This course focuses on the development of four skills – reading, writing, listening and speaking. You will also develop the ability to think critically, learn independently and work efficiently with others in a lively environment.

Recognised by the University of South Australia (UniSA) and RMIT University as equivalent to IELTS 6, the Academic English course is conducted by a group of qualified and experienced lecturers who are well trained in teaching methodology.

The course objectives are:

• Sharpen your English language skills in four areas: reading, writing, listening and speaking
• Ease your transition from using vernacular languages to the English language
• Ease your transition from using vernacular languages to the English language
• Build your confidence in using the English language

At the end of the course, you will be able to handle the requirements of academic study and demonstrate English language proficiency at the tertiary level.

Entry Level & Entry Requirements

1 – Taylor’s English Placement Test Band 5

*To register for any tertiary programmes offered at Taylor’s University, you are required to successfully complete and meet a minimum Band 6 for Academic English.
