The Bachelor of Science (Biochemistry) programme is an interdisciplinary course of chemistry and biology in the study of molecular life, structure and role processes in all life forms. With the expanding role of science at the molecular level, the programme has great application to all areas of life – from agriculture to medicine.
Students are exposed to the most up-to-date knowledge ranging from topics in basic biochemistry to cutting-edge technology employed in protein analysis, molecular biology and proteomics and biochemical toxicology.
The curriculum has been carefully designed and regularly reviewed to enable students to acquire a strong understanding of the basic principles underlying metabolism and regulatory mechanisms. The programme is excellent preparation for students in biochemistry research and professional work, enabling them to manage the challenges of the times.
This programme is a major in Biochemistry. Upon graduation, candidates will be conferred with Bachelor of Science degree.
