The Bachelor of Science (Chemistry) programme is a world-class programme that allows students to truly understand the cause and effect of all things natural or manmade. Chemistry forms an integral core to our understanding of the human body, the food we consume, the buildings we live and work in, the energy we burn, the air we breathe.

Chemistry allows for the creation and adaptation of newer and better products, be it pharmaceutical or technological. At the University of Malaya, students aren’t just embarking on a career in Chemistry, but are taking the first step in a lifelong passion for scientific discovery and truth.

Students of the programme are taught to think critically and creatively. Undergraduates are also given the opportunity to carry out research work in the area of their interest with a supervisor. They receive the exposure and experience of handling instruments and reporting the results and safety awareness in laboratories. The programme is proud of the fact that all its graduates are highly marketable in the job market.

This programme is a major in Chemistry. Upon graduation, candidates will be conferred with Bachelor of Science degree.
