Sayfol International School is an international school located next to Jalan Ampang, Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was founded in 1985 by Datuk Haji Ghullam Mohammed Sayeed, who remains the owner. The school currently follows the IGCSE syllabus.
Sayfol International School is an institution of learning where children from 60 different countries of the world, are being educated, whereby the school endeavour to blend this international mixture of children causing a special effect of cordiality and harmony between one another in a manner so deep and sincere that once within campus of the school, they believe and consider all students, teachers and the support staff as one united family – The SAYFOL Family. From here the teachers and the children take pride in calling themselves ‘SAYFOLIAN’.
Nursery
Sayfol International School Nursery is for children aged between two months to two and a half years. A full nursery programme is offered during the morning and after care during the afternoon. Children can attend a full day 7.30am to 2.00pm Monday to Friday or any prefered selected hours in between. Fully trained international staff experienced in early years teaching, provide structured, fun activities for the children.
Kindergarten
Sayfol International School Kindergarten offers a safe secure home from home environment for your child. In the programme, each child is appreciated and accepted at the level of their maturity and ability. The child is given the opportunity to learn to grow and develop in a climate of genuine affection and warmth.
The school is committed to the whole child by providing learning activities that are developmentally appropriate in a stimulating, challenging and creative environment. The classes are small (max 15) to facilitate individualized as well as class and group teaching methods. These classes are conducted from 8.00am to 12.30pm.
Primary
Primary 1 & 2 ( Key Stage 1)
At this level, the students are aged between 5 and 7 years old. Sayfol International School’s dedicated teachers are highly qualified ensuring a happy, wholesome atmosphere in which the learning experience is fun and not a chore
Primary 3 To 6 ( Key Stage 2)
From Primary 3, students who are from multi cultural backgrounds are aged between 7 and 11 years. The school curriculum provides solid learning with a futuristic orientation. The school encourage open mindedness in student’s evaluation of new concepts as they are exposed to a wide range of information. From Primary 3 upwards, the school emphasis is on greater self reliance and the development of a sound work ethic.
Secondary
At Secondary level, students have moved to a fully timetabled study based curriculum taught by specialist teachers. Building on their experiences at the secondary level the school focus on consolidating basics, broadening and applying skills and knowledge gearing the students toward the London General Certification of Education ‘O’ Level and ‘A’ Level examinations.
At the Upper Secondary Level, the school offers at Year 10 and Year II a course of study which allows students to pursue a pure Science or an Art stream or a combination of Arts and Sciences. This meets the individual needs of the students allowing them to excel in the subject areas that they are most interested in providing them with a wider choice for their future studies and career opportunities.
‘A’ Level
The ‘A’ Level Programme conducted by London Examinations, Edexcel International, comprising Year 12 and Year 13, is a modular programme which offers components of Science, Mathematics, Economics, Accounting and Business Studies.
The ‘A’ Level examinations are divided into Advanced Subsidiary (AS) and Advanced Level (A2) Modules. Each module is subdivided into three units, assessed by an exam paper or by coursework, so that you take up to six units for an Advanced Level qualification.
The modular programme offered is very flexible compared to other ‘A’ Level Programmes which are linear. You can take AS as a qualification in its own right. On the other hand, you can take AS in one year and A2 in the next. Alternatively, you can also take AS and A2 in one exam series, if you should so choose.
The AS modules focus on skills, knowledge and understandings developed during the first half of the advanced course of study. The conceptually demanding A2 modules emphasize more on the development of skills rather than on the learning of specific content.
