University of Southampton Malaysia Campus is a foreign branch university of Southampton, which is one of only 19 UK universities to be ranked in the top 100 globally (2015 QS World University Rankings) and in the Complete University Guide 2016, Southampton is in the top 20.
We were invited by the Ministry of Higher Education to establish a branch campus for engineering within the EduCity development in Iskandar, Malaysia. Iskandar is the nation’s economic zone located in Johor, just minutes from Singapore. Our Malaysia Campus opened in October 2012 and offers premier undergraduate degrees in engineering. In 2016, our first group of Malaysia Campus students graduated with excellent results – they obtained 10 First Class and eight Upper Second Class MEng degrees.

Engineering Foundation Year at University of Southampton Malaysia
The Foundation Year at the University of Southampton is a one-year, integrated preparatory course to prepare students for entry to our BEng or MEng degree programmes. On successful completion of the course, students are offered automatic progression to their undergraduate degree programme.
Undergraduate Courses at University of Southampton Malaysia
We offer premier degree courses in engineering. Teaching is split between our campuses in the UK and Malaysia.
Students at Malaysia Campus are offered exactly the same course content as students in the UK, including exactly the same laboratory experiments and practical tutorials.
We offer undergraduate Master of Engineering (MEng) degrees in Aeronautics & Astronautics, Mechanical Engineering and Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Our programmes will provide you with not only the analytical skills to design and develop the technology of tomorrow, but also the wider range of transferable skills needed by today’s professional engineer. In particular, the project element of our teaching is designed to help you acquire skills for the workplace.
