FLORIA 2010 – Putrajaya Flower And Garden Festival

FLORIA Putrajaya is Malaysia’s premier outdoor garden and flower showcase. Open from 10-18 July 2010, FLORIA will once again be held at the Waterfront, Precinct 2, Putrajaya.

After successful shows in 2007 and 2009, FLORIA returns in 2010 and is set to be even more spectacular and colourful. The festival showcases the best of the Malaysian and international landscape and horticulture industry; from commercial landscape products to garden design showcase and flower displays. Exhibitors from Malaysia and foreign countries will create exceptional displays and presentations in a park-setting environment.

Themed “Tropical Splendour”, FLORIA 2010 will showcase the biggest collection of Heliconias in full bloom in an outdoor theme garden display.

FLORIA is located on a 25 hectares land along the Waterfront, Precinct 2, Putrajaya. It is located directly opposite the National Registration Department or Jabatan Pendaftaran Negara building.

Set in the tropic atmosphere, FLORIA 2010 brings the exciting presentation of tropical colours. Bold red, orange and yellow are among the colours produced by Heliconias which has been chosen as the theme flower this year.

The show will showcase an assortment of Heliconias and related species from the plant order of Zingiberales. This year the show will feature plants from the family of Musacea (Bananas), Strelitziacea (Bird of Paradise), Lowiacea, Zingiberacea (Gingers), Costacea (Costus), Cannacea (Cannas) and Marantacea (Prayer Plants).

Visitors to FLORIA 2010 will be mesmerized with the splendid colours of the flowers in full bloom. Also featured is a large flower bed and a temperature controlled indoor Floral Pavilion. The show promises to be the biggest ever showcase of Heliconias and Zingiberales in Malaysia.
