AEON Bandaraya Melaka Shopping Centre in Bachang, Melaka

The AEON Bandaraya Melaka Shopping Centre is located at Kawasan Bandar, Daerah Melaka Tengah, Bachang, Melaka, Malaysia. The anchor tenant for this huge mall is JUSCO.

The AEON Bandaraya Melaka shopping mall was built with the costs of about RM288 million by WCT Berhad and it has a gross built-up floor area of approximately 1,358,000 square feet (126,200 m2) with about 2,200 car park bays.

Contrary to some speculations, AEON Bandaraya Melaka is not the largest AEON shopping centre in Malaysia. The largest AEON shopping centre in the country is the AEON Bukit Tinggi Shopping Centre in Klang, Selangor which was built with the costs of about RM350 million with a gross built-up floor area of approximately 2,100,000 square feet (195,000 m2) with over 5,000 car park bays.

The AEON Bandaraya Melaka Shopping Centre was completed in November 2009 and was initially scheduled to open for public on 17 December 2009. However, a major fatal explosion incident at the mall has caused the opening to be deferred to 5 February 2010.
