Underwater World Langkawi started its operation in August 1995 and it has become one of the famous tourist destinations in Langkawi. Since then, Underwater World Langkawi has become one of the largest marine and fresh water aquaria in South East Asia with 4000 over aquatic lives.
Underwater World Langkawi was built to create awareness of conserving the precious aquatic life and creating a bond between man and nature. It is a 15 meter long walk through tunnel consisting of half a million liter seawater at Underwater World Langkawi. Many big fishes such as Giant Grouper, Sharks, Giant Stingrays and Giant Green Turtle can be seen here as well as other attractions.
The new building which displays Tropical Rainforest, Temperate and Sub-Antarctic Ecosystems, and a three-dimensional (3D) theatre with a 200 seating capacity is now open to public since 2005. The new temperate section also includes an underwater penguin tunnel for visitors to view swimming penguins.

Marine Fish: 2.30pm – 3.30pm
Freshwater Fish (Rainforest Section): 11.00am
Otters: 3.30pm
Seals: 10.45am, 2.30pm and 4.00pm
Rockhopper Penguins: 11.15am and 3.15pm
African Penguins: 11.00am and 3.00pm
Macaw: 2.30pm
Underwater World Langkawi Opening Hours
Monday – Thursday: 10.00am – 6.00pm (last entrance is at 6pm)
Friday – Sunday: 9.30am – 8.30pm
Public and School Holidays: 9.30am – 6.30pm
Underwater World Langkawi Entrance Fees
Adults: RM 28 (with MyKad), RM 38 (without MyKad)
Children (3-12 years old): RM 18 (with MyKad), RM 28 (without MyKad)
Malaysian Senior Citizens (50 years old & above): RM 22 (with MyKad)
Government Rate: Adults – RM 22, Children – RM 11
One (1) Government I.D. Card entitles for two (2) adults and two (2) children.
