Hospital Penawar is located in Pasir Gudang, an industrial town around 35km east of Johor Bahru in Malaysia. The hospital occupies 4 blocks of four storey units in Pasir Gudang Business Centre, with 80 inpatient beds and 10 clinical disclipines. In Malay, ‘Penawar’ means ‘cure’ or ‘antidote’. As the name suggests, the hospital’s main objective is to provide the best primary and secondary healthcare services to their patients.
In June 1997, Hospital Penawar opened itself to the public. It is the first and only private hospital operating within Pasir Gudang town. Hospital Penawar is now run by a joint-venture between the owners of Kumpulan Perubatan Penawar and Kumpulan Perubatan Johor.
