Sri Kuala Lumpur Primary and Secondary School
Sri KL believe that a love of learning can be inculcated in young minds through a system where knowledge acquisition is stimulating and enjoyable. In the pursuit of this idea Sri KL’s students are encouraged to be self-learners and inquisitive about the world around them.
At the same time, they firmly adhere to a balanced approach towards education. Their students are exposed to a diverse and challenging co-curricular programme which includes participation in one or more clubs or societies, gymnastics, swimming and various indoor and outdoor sports.
At Sri Kuala Lumpur Secondary School students learn to become young ladies and gentlemen who recognize and respect the customs and traditions of Malaysian society. Secondary School is also a place of self-discovery and independent learning where students are encouraged to express their individuality and develop their academic and co-curricular potential to the fullest degree in a disciplined environment that promotes creative thinking and expression.
Curriculum
Sri KL Primary School follows the KBSR curriculum and the main medium of instruction is Bahasa Melayu closely supported by English.
Mathematics, Science and Information Technology are all taught in English from Standard One to Standard Six.
Each subject syllabus ensures that students are well prepared for the public examinations and at the same time are allowed to explore more challenging topics that will stimulate accelerated learning and deeper comprehension.
Traditional and creative approaches to teaching and learning are employed with equal emphasis on project work and internal examinations.
A strong moral code is emphasized in children’s social development which is supported by charity work, field trips and international exchange programmes to further broaden their experience of the global environment.
Sri KL Secondary School follows both the local KBSM curriculum and the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE), commonly known as O’levels. For both KBSM and O’levels each subject syllabus ensures that students are well prepared for the public examinations whilst allowing them to explore more challenging topics that will stimulate deeper comprehension and strengthen their desire to be life-long learners.
A full-time professional student counselor is always on hand to advise students on career choices or study techniques and to provide pastoral care and a listening ear when it’s needed.
