The British School of Kuala Lumpur
The British School is an independent, British-run organisation established to provide high value education to the expatriate community of Kuala Lumpur and surrounding areas.
The school has been established in response to demand from the local international community for quality British education. Its principal aim is the provision of excellent education following the English National Curriculum.
Curriculum
The British School follows the English National Curriculum as developed by the British Government. It is a standardised programme and is delivered here in Kuala Lumpur the same way as any British School worldwide. By choosing a British education for your child, you can ensure continuity in their education anywhere in the world. For further information on the English National Curriculum, please visit the official website.
All children are taught in mixed ability classes, with children of the same age. Children may be taught English, Maths or other core subjects in smaller groups if we consider support is needed. There are 3 departments:
Early Years : Pre-Nursery (age 2) Nursery (age 3) and Reception (age 4) classes
Primary : Years 1 – 6 (ages 5 – 10)
Secondary : Year 7 (Age 11)
British qualified staff deliver the English National Curriculum supported in most instances by a native English speaking Teacher’s Assistant.
