Since its establishment in 1998, ALFA College has grown to be recognized as one of the best architecture colleges in Southeast Asia. With students being the sole focus of our undivided attention & dedicated efforts, a new all-encompassing motto – “Our Students First”, was conjured as part of the R.E.A.L Education Group’s new purposeful spirit. This firm commitment includes going the extra mile in recognizing our students’ respective talents and creative abilities. We always encourage them to boldly explore and realize their creative potential rather than just duplicate existing skills and techniques. ALFA graduates are able to express their own unique style rather than settle for any mere imitation. How? Well, at least 75% of our curriculum involves hands-on learning where students are taught to apply design concepts into practice via real-life situations. This method ensures that our students are able to produce industrially relevant and functional designs, without compromising on artistic flair and creativity.

Many ALFA graduates are now based overseas and are successful in their careers. Many are also proud business owners and in light of this, ALFA has a strong alumni circle that organizes annual gatherings for networking purposes and the sharing of ideas. This avenue undoubtedly promotes strong ties between the past students as well as enable them to share their success stories and achievements. A unique aspect of ALFA’s courses is the ‘Industrial Attachment’ programme during a student’s final year. This is compulsory for all courses and allows students to experience and understand the needs of current industry demands, thus making them highly sought-after professionals. Many ALFA graduates are employed even before they graduate which is testament to the their quality and competence.

As mentioned, ALFA has established partnerships with many renowned international universities. Students have the opportunity to further their studies with reputable universities in Australia, United Kingdom and New Zealand. Our graduates are recognized for their academic standing and as such, are well received by fellow partner universities, namely; University of Hertfordshire, University of Tasmania and University of Waikato (Universal College of Learning) through scholarship and credit recognition avenues.

ALFA students’ active participation in various national student workshops such as the National Architecture Students Workshop, MSID Students’ Saturday Event, IPOM Scholarship Awards, MIFC Furniture Design Competition, and the Tanjong Heritage Art Competition has resulted in them bagging top accolades for many consecutive years. ALFA is therefore proud to claim that no other private academic institutions have come close in matching ALFA’s achievements in the above areas.

In addition to full-time courses, ALFA also offers part-time certificate and diploma courses. In line with the government’s call to cultivate lifelong learning as a vital cog in our education system, part-time programmes are now extended to cater towards working professionals who are keen to enhance their knowledge and skills. Corporate training in the form of software applications and other selected creative skill sets are available as well, for either individual or group training. These part-time programmes are conducted by industry professionals and are specifically tailored to meet the requirements of working adults. Its flexible delivery mode allows busy professionals to pursue their studies without having to forego or compromise on their work. Part-time courses are conducted in the evenings while corporate training programmes can be conducted on campus or on-site, whichever is preferred.

Although well-recognised for its architecture courses, ALFA is always seeking to open up more options in other disciplines. Two new programmes are already in the pipeline for those who are interested in Early Childhood Education and Psychology. With investment figures reaching up to RM20 million for new premises and quality facilities, we are committed in providing a more conducive learning environment for both our existing and future students. This significant increase in resources allows us to triple our current student capacity.

Architecture

Architecture is a combination of both art and science. In this course, you’ll learn to design and develop buildings, and plan and manage the development process.

In this course, you’ll gain foundational knowledge in architecture, skills required in designing, developing, planning and managing building, and learn to apply that to your future work.

You’ll also be put through a 6-month industrial attachment which will better prepare you for the real world.

Interior architecture

Interior architecture is about designing and creating practical yet engaging spaces. This course is where you’ll learn how to balance function and appeal in the design of space.

The Diploma in Interior Architecture is designed to prepare you for employment and / or further studies in various fields besides interior architecture, such as property development, installation work and exhibition design.

In this course, you’ll gain foundational knowledge in the study of interior architecture, the skills needed in the industry, and learn to apply that to your future work.

Graphic Design

Graphic Design is very much about conveying messages, thoughts and ideas through visuals. This course is where you’ll learn to visualize, conceptualize and rationalize your work.

The Diploma in Graphic Design is structured to prepare you for employment and / or further studies in various creative fields such as advertising, publishing and events.

The Diploma in Multimedia Design is structured to prepare you for employment and / or further studies in the various multimedia related fields such as advertising, web and game design, animation, and broadcasting.

In this course, you’ll gain foundational knowledge on multimedia design as well as the necessary skills to create engaging interactive media, and learn to apply that to your future work.
