Bachelor of Biomedical Science (BBMedSc), University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur

The objective of this programme is to provide the student with extensive knowledge on basic sciences and medical sciences during the early part of the course. In the later stage of the course, the students are required to select 3-4 related disciplines of Laboratory Medicine. The student will be given instruction in research methodologies and are required to carry out a research project during the special semester.

The aim of this course is to produce laboratory oriented, technically competent graduates with a sound foundation in the basic medical sciences and an in depth knowledge of the major branches of biomedical science.

Successful graduates will be able to assume responsible positions, as part of a health care team that is concerned with the care of patients and/or with basic and applied clinical research or as part of a research team in allied medical disciplines, in food and pharmaceutical industries, in public health and biotechnology.
