This programme is aimed at producing qualified and competitive graduates to fulfill the nation needs for skilled manpower in wood science and technology field. Students will be exposed to the concept, theories and methods based of information, material and the latest technology. The duration of the Bachelor of Wood Science Technology is 4 years (8 semesters). In detail, this program will;

• Produce graduates with knowledge and expertise to manage the utilization of nation natural resources optimumly.
• Produce graduates with skills in the technology to process and produce wood materials while being sensitive the the protection of environment from various pollutions.
• Produce graduates who are able to be a competent and professional managers in the production and process of wood and forest product.

Admission Requirements

Minimum Requirement for STPM Holders

• Basic University Requirements
  • Passed SPM examination with a good grade
  • Obtained at least a credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or its equivalent
  • Passed in one STPM examination with at least:
    • Grade C (NGMP 2.00) for subject General Study and
    • Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in two (2) other subject
  • Have taken the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
• Faculty Requirement
  • Meet the basic University requirement
  • Obtained at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) in one of the subject above at STPM level:
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Physics
    • Additional Mathematics/Advanced Adtitional Mathematics

Minimum Requirement for KPM Matriculation/Fundamental Science KPM Matriculation

• Basic University Requirements
  • Passed SPM examination with a good grade
  • Obtained at least a credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or its equivalent
  • Passed the KPM Matriculation/Fundamental Science KPM with at least PNGK 2.00
  • Have taken the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
• Faculty Requirements
  • Meet the basic University requirement.
  • At least obtained PNGK 2.00 at matriculation level

Minimum Requirement for KPM Matriculation/ Fundamental Science UM/ Foundation Year UiTM

• Basic University Requirement
  • Passed SPM examination with a good grade
  • Obtained at least a credit in Bahasa Melayu/Bahasa Malaysia at SPM level or ts equivalent
  • Pass the KPM Matriculation/Fundamental Science UM/Foundation Year UiTM with at least PNGK 2.00
  • Have taken the Malaysian University English Test (MUET)
• Faculty Requirement
  • Meet the basic University requirement.
  • Obtained PNGK 2.00 and at least CGPA with grade C in one of the below subject at matriculation level
    • Biology
    • Chemistry
    • Mathematics

Minimum Requirement for Diploma Holders

Passed Diploma in suitable field from UPM or other recognized institution and have taken the Malaysian University English Test (MUET).

Credit Requirements

The Bachelor of Wood Science Technology is a professional programme with the duration of 4 years and 2 major; Biocomposite Technology and Wood Industries Management. Students will have to conduct a research at the end of the study and make a documentation about the project research based on the research area that were chosen. The minimum credit required for graduation is 135. Students are also will have to go through practical work for 10 weeks on the semester break in the 3 years of study duration, by which 2 week are for the Forestry Camp. Other than that, student will also have to take a co-curriculum course minimum 2 credits of which these credits are not included in the credits required for graduation.
