Raffles University Iskandar (RUI) is a private higher education institution in the Johor State. This is a multi-faculty and comprehensive university providing a comprehensive range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in Business and Social Sciences, including Education and Psychology. All available programmes are fully approved and certified by the Malaysian Government. Raffles University Iskandar is the only private higher education institution in the Johor State to offer university Bachelor degrees in Design approved by the Ministry of Higher Education. Most of the university’s programmes include a compulsory work experience period which prepares students for the industries.

Raffles University Iskandar have student intakes in January, May and September.

Raffles University Iskandar (RUI) Entry Requirements

For Foundation in Liberal Arts Programme:

  • Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) or its equivalent with a minimum of 5 credits; or
  • General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level (GCE O-Level); or
  • Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of 3 credits

For Undergraduate Degree Programmes:

  • Sijil Tinggi Persekolahan Malaysia (STPM) or its equivalent with a minimum of 2 subjects graded C; or
  • General Certificate of Higher Education Advanced Level (GCE A-Level) or its equivalent with a minimum of 2 credits at Advanced Level; or
  • Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with a minimum of 5 credits

Note: Credit exemptions for prior learning will be granted for recognised certificates, diplomas and advanced diplomas on a case-by-case basis at the discretion of the Academic Board

For Postgraduate Degree Programmes:

Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a recognised University / College and
  • Minimum of 2 years relevant full-time postgraduate work experience in a managerial, supervisory or executive position

Master of Design Programme (MDes) Programmes

  • Bachelor of Design or Bachelor of Arts in Design Degrees from a recognised University / College and
  • Submission of a design portfolio

Raffles University Iskandar (RUI) English Language Proficiency Requirements

For Foundation and Undergraduate Degree Programmes:

  • Successful completion of secondary education from an institution where the medium of instructions is English; or
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.0 or higher obtained during the last 2 years
  • Test of English as A Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 550 for paper-based, 213 for computer-based or 79-80 or higher for Internet-based obtained during the last 2 years

Note: Applicants who do not meet the above-mentioned requirements will be required to take the Raffles University Iskandar’s English Placement Test and/or Intensive English Language Programme

For Postgraduate Degree Programmes:

  • Successful completion of secondary education from an institution where the medium of instructions is English; or
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) with a minimum score of 6.5 or higher obtained during the last 2 years
  • Test of English as A Foreign Language (TOEFL) with a minimum score of 575 for paper-based, 230 for computer-based or 90 for Internet-based obtained during the last 2 years

Note: Applicants who do not meet the above-mentioned requirements will be required to take the Raffles University Iskandar’s English Placement Test
and/or Intensive English Language Programme

Raffles University Iskandar (RUI) is provides it’s Elite Scholarship Programme for 2013. Candidates with the right profile and skills will receive support in pursuing higher education through financial help with tuition fees for the duration of the programme.
