KDU College Damansara Jaya is part of KDU, an institution that has over 32 years of history and experience, believes in providing real world education to meet real world needs, and has traditionally, been successful in producing competent graduates and preparing students for top universities all over the world.

Established in 1983, and a pioneer in Malaysian private education, KDU was one of the first private colleges in Malaysia to have its own purpose-built campus. The institution, as KDU College then, was awarded the university college status in 2010 – a reflection of its quality programmes, and the growth of its international student population.

PRE-UNIVERSITY & FOUNDATION STUDIES

For over 30 years, KDU has been paving the way for pre-university education in Malaysia. At KDU, we ensure that our pre-university students are equipped with the knowledge and foundation in their chosen field of study, so that they are able to adjust into their tertiary education with ease.

We also engender a positive learning environment in which our students can grow in confidence and achieve their true potential. Class sizes for formal subjects are limited to 30 students – a commitment towards the provision of strong pastoral care. LAW

As the legal profession grows more dynamic every day, we strive to adapt our methods in order to deliver an education that meets the needs of the current environment while still maintaining a curriculum that is both intellectually demanding and engaging. KDU College, in collaboration with Northumbria University, UK, contributes to the development of the engineering profession in Malaysia by offering the Bachelor of Engineering (Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, which has strong academic and practical training to facilitate the progression of students to various technical and professional skills in electrical and electronics engineering.

HOSPITALITY, TOURISM & CULINARY ARTS

The global hospitality, tourism and culinary arts industries are dynamic and constantly evolving. At KDU, students will find the blend of true hospitality, tourism and culinary subjects taught in specialised facilities that mirror state-of-the-art, real world environments. Our range of programmes ensure that students emerge as excellent, well-rounded graduates, armed with a combination of knowledge and skills that are in high demand with employers.

Together with lecturers who carry both industry and academic experiences, we constantly push boundaries to ensure our students learn from the best. KDU is the only institution to offer molecular cooking as a compulsory subject in our culinary programmes, in addition to launching the first-ever culinary book that applies molecular cooking techniques in Malaysian recipes. KDU is also no stranger to the competitive culinary scene, with lecturers and students excelling in competitions both locally and internationally.

KDU is also internationally recognized, garnering the World Association of Chefs Societies (WACS) Recognition of Quality Culinary Education as well as accreditation from The International Centre of Excellence in Tourism and Hospitality Education (THE-ICE) as an Associate Member.

PROFESSIONAL ACCOUNTING

Established in 2008, KDU College’s Professional Accountancy (PAC) was recently given the ACCA Approved Learning Provider – Platinum status with its high quality tuition and student support services. This means that PAC has not only met the challenging performance targets set by ACCA, but has exceeded it due to the excellent academic performance of students in the ACCA examination over the years.

With professional and qualified lecturers backed by years of experience, PAC is there to aid students who require extra help and ensure that students are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to take on real challenges with confidence. They also provide regular counselling support and communication with students to establish a healthy and mature mind. Students can also join the PAC Club to hone their leadership and interpersonal skills by participating or organising various events and activities.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE

English proficiency is critical for anyone seeking to live, work, or succeed professionally in the global arena. At KDU, our programmes, which cater for most language levels and abilities, enable students to sharpen their English language skills before commencing their tertiary education in Malaysia.

As we have students from across the world coming through our doors each day, we also conduct regular English language enrichment activities and field trips to help them adapt to a new country and culture. It’s a great way to help the students and lecturers bond in a relaxed and fun environment.

Besides classroom learning, there are also enrichment activities, field trips and workshops organised to provide greater exposure to the language learning process.

The language community in KDU is a melting pot. Our international students come from at least 20 different countries. The Centre for Intensive English boasts of excellent student-staff rapport. Our dedicated and qualified teaching staff ensure that students excel in their studies.

Pastoral care is provided to all students who are each assigned an academic adviser throughout their course of study.
